Male. Age 20. A greenhorn astrolegist. As he had focused solely on becoming an astrolegist, he doesn’t have much in terms of physical strength.
Though he may give off a feeble air, a fierce will burns in his eyes. He hails from a remote, poor village in the country named “Seylem”, and thus is unused to life in the imperial capital of Lutèce. In the past, he lost his mother to an unjust “star hunt”.
Due to facing the experience of having his innocent mother declared a “witch”, he became an astrolegist to realize his dream of ridding the system of false accusations.
“Okay, I understand. I trust you. I’ll prove your innocence at the next star hunt.”

Farnese Atlas

Female. Age 18. Self-proclaimed “witch of justice”. Etoile’s old friend from childhood, they reunite for the first time in ten years in the imperial capital of Lutèce, where she assists him on star hunts.
She loves Etoile so much that her heart can barely take it.
It is unclear exactly what kind of magic she uses, but by using her holy staff Astrolabe, she can detect clues and traces of magic at crime scenes.
It is magic that doesn’t reach the realm of psychometry — magicalmetry.
She assists Etoile in his magic investigations with her familiar Ciel.
“Hee hee hee… surprised, are we? There’s nothing a witch of justice can’t do!”

Farnese’s familiar. A dog.
In reality, she’s Farnese’s mother… or so Farnese insists.
That said, she is quite smart, and is the mascot of Jacqueline’s law firm.
She helps out in magic investigations, can feel magic, find evidence with her sense of smell… she’s a much bigger helper on investigations than Farnese is.
She can’t speak in any way apart from barking.
Farnese can apparently understand her, but how much she actually understands is rather sketchy.

Jacqueline Sprenger

Female. Age 25. An astrolegist. The head of the Jaqueline Astrolegal Offices, and Etoile’s employer.
She was born in the Near East. Due to growing up in an arid wasteland, she has dark skin.
The Sprenger family has been a wealthy clan of merchants in that region for generations, and Jacqueline is very distantly related to Yves Klein.
She gives advice to Etoile whenever he hits a dead end on an investigation, and though she is somewhat like a reliable older sister to him, she has also been known to sexually harass him with no mercy.
As in, sexually harasses him 80% of the time.

Yves Klein

Female. Age 22. The head courtroom knight, as well as the leader of the Knights Templar. The courtroom knight in charge of the star hunts, and an elite among the elite that administers the police knights assigned to the police organization. Clad in armor blessed by the divine protection of Saint Stella, she wields a sacred sword forged in the ancient era of magic.
As a courtroom knight, she is a worthy opponent to Etoile, who proves suspects are witches and prosecutes magical crimes.
She is unaffected, sincere, and scrupulous. She despises cowards, and loves justice and the truth. In other words, the ideal knight.
Currently, she is pursuing an investigation into the “public dismemberment” incidents that have struck fear into the imperial capital, and often leaves the courtroom to her subordinates Jet and Jetta.
“Indeed, it is as you say. I am a courtroom knight. I shall determine the truth.”

Orhime Nakajima Aster

Female. Age 18. A student who attends the Carolingian Girls’ Academy. Set to graduate in the near future. Has a father who came from an eastern nation developed in the scientific era, as well as beautiful exotic black hair. As such, she is very knowledgeable about the eastern scientific civilization, such as the state-of-the-art camera she holds.
Excels at her studies and has great business/management skills, along with being a strong swimmer.
She has a calm and collected attitude at odds with her youthful appearance, but she is bad at logic, cooking, and being asked to be flexible.
She also helps out at her father’s Eastern food stand “Hikoboshi”, located in the plaza of Saint Stella’s Park.

Selfish and narcissistic, they constantly provoke Etoile and earn Yves’ ire for disgracing the dignity of knights.

A legendary astrolegist, he displayed uncommon shrewdness during the legal reform ten years ago, building the foundation of the astrolegist institution.
